Veon was delighted to attend the ESG summit that took place in Croke Park on the 30th of April 2024. The theme was “Are you prepared for the changing regulatory environment?” The ESG summit aimed at facilitating companies understand how they can transition to becoming more sustainable and understand the regulatory environment and the new obligations that exist for companies under the corporate sustainability reporting directives and especially the reporting requirements of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
On March 15th, the EU Council approved the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, a pivotal milestone in Europe’s climate action strategy. Once implemented the CS3D will impose an unparalleled and extensive corporate governance duty on many companies based in and outside the EU.
