Veon performs detailed surveys of individual trees and groups of trees on public or private property. These are trees which may pose a hazard to people, infrastructure or adjacent third-party properties. The purpose of these tree surveys is to undertake a hazard evaluation and condition assessment. The aim of the hazard evaluation process is to assess the danger and risk associated with the trees within their environment and recommend appropriate remedial works in the context of the ecological and environmental effects of the suggested remedial works.

Veon geo tags each tree using a state-of-the-art geo referencing system with built in data analysing software and takes a photo of each tree before critical measurements are taken and observations made.

Survey records and attribute data is provided in the form of a shapefile (.shp). Each record has a Unique Identifier which links it to a geotagged image. Veon also supplies a KMZ file, which contains both the survey data and imagery and can be used in Google Earth. Composite map PDFs which show survey records at suitable scales are also provided.

Decision makers need to balance development plans with the protection of the natural environment, flora and fauna, and habitat resources. External pressures on natural resources, including climate change, population growth and land use changes, impact on developmental decisions that must be resolved within a strict legislative framework.

Veon recognises the importance of maintaining a balanced ecosystem which supports both human development and enhances the biodiverse environment in which we all live. Veon arboriculturalists and ecologists are committed to identifying and creating solutions for our clients to protect, enhance and monitor trees and biodiversity values, and avoid or mitigate any potentially negative impacts predicted to arise from proposed activities.

Veon arboriculturalists are dedicated to providing independent flexible solutions for clients and ensuring that all activities follow best practice. Veon’s Certified Arborists are professional members of the International Society of Arboriculture and / or The Arboricultural Association.
