Veon are hiring for a Forest Regional Manager

Veon is seeking an experienced, commercially focused Regional Manager for the Mid-West region to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality forestry services in line with the PEFC forest management standard.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and based in our regional office in Oranmore, Co. Galway, the successful candidate will manage all forestry sales and operations and build strong relationships with all stakeholders.

The Role

  • Manage an extensive forestry portfolio in the Mid-West region.
  • Work with Veon’s Renewable Energy, Ecology and Arboriculture teams to deliver bespoke projects across our multidisciplinary team.
  • Conduct quarterly regional planning with the Operations Manager and the regional team.
  • Carry out annual budgeting and operational planning within the company’s Management Information System.
  • Execute quarterly and annual plans to a high standard, within budget and on time, reporting within the company’s Management Information System.
  • Work with the company’s Health and Safety officer to adhere to Veon’s health and safety requirements and enforce standards among Veon’s team and contractors working on clients’ properties.
  • Adhere to Veon’s systems for the management and execution of company policies and operations.
  • Generate new harvesting, roading and establishment sales.
  • Manage issues as they arise within the region and work with the team to provide and deliver effective solutions for our clients.
  • Assist in answering client enquiries professionally, on time and to a high standard.
  • In the delivery of professional services projects for our clients, ensure that reports are prepared accurately and on time.

Requirements of Regional Manager Role

  • Relevant third-level forestry qualification (Level 7 degree or higher).
  • Full Irish driving licence (manual).
  • Excellent leadership, planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • High level of proficiency in IT systems, including Customer Relationship Management Systems, GIS, Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of current Irish forestry legislation, schemes and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements as they apply to forestry.
  • 3 years’ relevant experience in the Forestry Industry.
  • Fluent in English.
