Having received approval from the NCSE to open a special classroom for children with Autism which is being called the “The Oak Room”, Conor Kavanagh, Veon South East Regional Manager presented Oak saplings to school Principal Kevin Gorman to be planted on the school grounds to mark the start of the fundraising to complete the project.
Principal Gorman commented that “our inspiration for the room is that like the acorn, great things do indeed come from small beginnings. This is a very positive step forward for our school and the wider community as we will now be in a position to educate any child that needs access to a special class within their locality. Up until now children in need of additional learning supports have had to travel significant distances in order to receive the support that should be available to all locally.”
