Veon is looking to recruit an Ecologist with experience in Ornithology to join our growing team throughout Ireland. As a company providing ecology services to a wide range of sectors, the successful candidate must demonstrate a knowledge of Irish ecology while also being committed to providing practical solutions for our clients.

The role will primarily involve undertaking ecological surveys and reporting on these surveys. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills and be able to work within tight deadlines while making a positive contribution to our team.

Key Responsibilities of Ecologist Role:
- Compile technically robust ecology reports for our clients. These will include, but not limited to, Pre- screening reports, Appropriate Assessment reports and Natura Impact Statements.
- Provide advice and guidance to the wider Veon team on ecological issues as they
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and guidance to ensure company compliance and interpret this for colleagues and the Management Team.
- Manage a large workload efficiently including scheduling of work and communicating with team members and clients in a timely manner.
- Manage time and project delivery in an organised and proactive manner to ensure smooth delivery of reports and projects.
- Work as a team member and share knowledge, expertise and learning with
- Collate and store ecological data and reports while maintaining these records in a manner that is easily and readily accessible by colleagues as required.

Requirements of Ecologist Role
- Relevant degree in Ecology or related discipline is
- Membership of relevant professional institute is
- Previous Experience in Ornithology
- Freshwater ecology experience is
- Experience undertaking work in Appropriate Assessment reporting and Natura Impact Statement reporting.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly MS
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders and negotiate practical solutions.
- Ability to manage projects to tight
- Previous experience in GIS including ArcGIS and QGIS is
- Full driving licence is
- Willingness to travel throughout
- Capable of working competently both alone and as part of the team when
