Common Frog (Rana temporaria) spawn in a little pond in Rowls Allen, Co. Cork… Each female breed around February and usually produces one clump of frogs spawn in a season, in warm days in March.
A female frog may lay up to 4,000 eggs in one spring. Adults eat insects, snails, slugs and worms. Young tadpoles feed on algae and after a while they become carnivorous. Another interesting fact is that their natural habitat is mainly meadows, ponds and woodlands.

This lovely standing stone is located on one of our forestry sites in Co. Tipperary. These historic structures are dotted all around Ireland and are a distinctive feature of the Celtic Era. Single standing stones like this one were likely used to mark graves and religious sites.
