Veon’s sponsorship of the second year of the “folly tales and treasure trails” heritage week event was deemed to be a great success by all the participants. This year, for the younger attendees, we had a foraging walk along the bank of the river Brosna where all of the edible plants were identified and sampled. This was followed by a demonstration of kick sampling in the river with Ruth from Lawpro explaining to the intrepid children how we can monitor water quality by examining what lives in the water. This natural learning experience was enhanced by the use of the Explorers Kits given to each child which were donated by Veon.
