The 10th Irish Bat Conference was held on the weekend of Saturday 11th March and VEON Ecologists were delighted to attend the event which is organised by Bat Conservation Ireland which is an all-Ireland charity that promotes the conservation of bats and their habitats.
As VEON is a Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) Registered practice we carry out significant numbers of bat surveys for developers, landowners and professionals engaged in land use change.
Bats are protected by law in Ireland under the Wildlife Act 1976 and subsequent amendments and they are further protected under the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC).
