Requirements of Health & Safety Compliance Advisor (Part Time) Role:
- Relevant and recognised professional qualification in Health and Safety or a closely related field.
- Excellent knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Positive attitude and willing to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office incl. Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams.
• Possessing a self-confident and pragmatic approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Fluent in English.
- Authorised to work in Ireland.
Responsibilities of Health & Safety Compliance Advisor (Part Time) Role:
- Manage the Health & Safety Statement and ensure its implementation throughout the company.
- First point of contact for companywide Health & Safety issues.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Management of Health and Safety induction process for all new staff members.
- Management of investigation of accidents and near misses.
- Collate and review RAMS documentation in conjunction with all field teams before commencement of new operations.
- Review risk assessments regularly and consult with management to ensure implementation of updates.
- Arrange and lead monthly health and safety meetings with Forestry, Ecology and Arboriculture teams. Issue minutes of each meeting and ensure follow-up on agreed action points.
- Provide ongoing training and awareness sessions to staff as required.
- Manage internal health and safety training and ensure all certificates are up to date.
- Provide support to all teams in relation to Health & Safety issues which arise during tender process.
- Manage fire safety in head office and all regional offices include equipment checks, fire drills etc.
- Ensure all Contractor health and safety documents are in place with the assistance of Administration.
- Engage with Veon Client’s Health & Safety Systems, ensuring all new staff members are set up on these systems where necessary and consult with client regarding queries on this as they arise.
- Ensure Client Health & Safety systems are kept updated with employee compliance certificates.
- Management of periodic health and safety audits on sites nationwide. Follow up with internal and external teams to discuss audit findings, recommendations, and necessary actions.
- Collaborate with other professionals internally and externally to ensure a coordinated approach to health and safety management.
- Continuously update knowledge of health and safety regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
