Today, Daragh Little, MD of Forestry in Veon, gave a talk to over 80 members of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) as part of their CPD programme for Auctioneers and Valuers. The talk titled – Forestry as a Rural Asset, Land Use, Valuation and Investment Potential – focused on forestry history in Ireland, the asset class, methods of valuation, carbon, biodiversity and ESG and finished off with a discussion on the market for forestry assets in Ireland. It was a great privilege to be asked by SCSI to present on this topic. As the market for forestry assets grow it is hugely important that valuers understand the market and know where to get professional advice in assessing forestry so that they can provide the best service for their clients.
