Our Foresters

Veon manages forest properties throughout Ireland, focusing on every aspect of forestry from commercial forestry to close-to-nature woodland establishment. We also practice a variety of silvicultural systems to meet our clients requirements and to reflect the needs of wider public policy. Our company offers a broad array of forestry services all of which provide our forestry team with wide ranging experience.  Our foresters are flexible, adaptive and knowledgeable about the whole forestry experience.

Our forestry team is a dynamic mix of recent graduates and experienced professionals, where younger team members are exposed to a wide variety of forestry management activities, under the guidance of our more experienced foresters.  This is hugely important for younger foresters looking to develop their forestry careers.

Our company is committed to continuous improvement and our forestry team is required to attend internal and external training events to develop their knowledge and open new avenues for their careers with Veon.

At Veon, we believe that Information Technology is core to how we run our business and our forestry team is trained in the latest technologies to collect data, plan and monitor forestry activities.  Our standards are high and our IT solutions are designed to reflect that. We are constantly looking to improve our procedures to make us more efficient and deliver quality solutions for our clients.

Veon aims for high standards in the management of our forests.  We have certified over 4,000 ha of our forests under PEFC.  We expect our foresters to live up to these standards in how they manage our client’s forests, how they deal with other team members and how they deal with our clients. Forestry in recent times has become more technically and environmentally challenging, so our foresters are expected to be very knowledgeable of legal and technical requirements.  Indeed, as Veon offers other services, notably ecology and arboriculture, our forestry team has access to this knowledge base.  This is huge advantage for our forestry team in the current environment where compliance increasingly plays a central part in the role of a forester.

So, a Veon forester typically has a wide range of experiences in forestry management, is well trained, comfortable with Information Technology and focused on delivering to the highest standards for our clients.

If you wish to expand your career horizons and become an important part of our successful team, then send your CV to [email protected].
