This young White-tailed Eagle was photographed January 2025 in Co Roscommon. Lack of a wing tag and presence of black colour ring on its tarsis indicates that this bird was born in Ireland likely in 2023.
White-tailed Eagles were re-introduced to Killarney National Park in 2007 and it is one of Ireland’s largest resident bird species with a wingspan of over two metres.
